During my first draft of my new novel, THE TRADE, a friend’s young daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. On a whim, I named a minor character after the little girl, Alaina, a hopeful thought that if Alaina could survive one of my deadly thrillers, the real Alaina could be okay, too.

On August 23, 2013, an awesome group of authors will band together to launch the Trade the Day blog-a-thon on colbymarshall.com/blog. Every hour, a new post will go up from a different author.
